On April 3rd 2023, our school community received the shocking news that our wonderful friend and colleague Michelle Mc Keown died unexpectedly. Michelle had just married her husband Martin, and was enjoying her honeymoon in Spain.
Michelle had been an incredible teacher in Holywell ETNS, working as a special education teacher in both the autism classes and in support in mainstream. Since her time in Holywell, Michelle proved herself to be a deeply committed and dedicated teacher, as well as a caring and supportive friend to all.
We will keep Michelle's memory alive in our school remembering her good humour and kindness. This year we are looking to create 'Minnie's Memory Garden' in her memory and hold the annual football tournament where children are encouraged to show teamwork, support and resilience.
Holywell ETNS is deeply privileged to have had Michelle as part of our teaching staff for eight years and will uphold her legacy for many years to come.
