Culture Night 2025 will take place on Friday 19th September. This annual all-Ireland public event celebrates culture, creativity and the arts.
Swords Library is delighted to be participating in Culture Night! We have two exciting author events planned.
Creative Mask Making with Tarsila Krüse
Friday 19th September
6 – 7 pm
For ages 7–12-year-old
Join artist, author, and illustrator Tarsila Krüse in this fun and creative mask-making workshop! Spark your creativity using paper plates, colourful paper, and collage techniques to craft decorative animal masks. Choose your favourite animal or invent a fantastical creature of your own!

Write Your Own Story - With Conor Kostick

For ages 12 - 16
Entering the world of your imagination and inventing stories to entertain others is a real joy. There is a challenge though, in using the written word to convey that story. Award winning children's author and creative writing teacher Conor Kostick will discuss topics like choosing the right narrative voice; character development; writing dialogue; structuring a story; and many more to help you write your own stories.
